The staff at Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground have been so kind, compassionate and helpful during a very difficult time. It’s a great comfort to our family to know that our lovely Mum is resting in such beautiful surroundings. We love to visit her and feel she is at peace. We would highly recommend Mayfields.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review, Anna. We're honoured to have been able to support you and your family during such a difficult time. It's wonderful to know that Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground provides comfort and peace as you visit your Mum in her resting place. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we are here for you whenever you need.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't recommend Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground highly enough. From the moment we arrived, Yvonne, Sarah and Hollie were so kind, compassionate and attentive. They made such a difficult day feel personal, comforting and full of care. We chose to have the wake there too, and it was the perfect setting. Sitting out on the decking overlooking the beautiful river gave everyone the chance to relax, reflect and share memories together. One of the most special moments was when a fox came right up to me, almost as if it was saying hello. It felt incredibly peaceful and somehow very fitting. What really stood out was that we were never made to feel rushed. Even when our allotted time had passed, nobody asked us to leave. We were simply left to reminisce for as long as we needed, with endless cups of tea and coffee and complete understanding from the wonderful staff. It was such a beautiful, natural and heartfelt way to say goodbye to our loved one. Thank you to everyone at Mayfields for making an incredibly difficult day so special.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Steph! We are truly honored to have been able to support you during such a difficult time. It's heartwarming to hear that Yvonne, Sarah, and Hollie made the day comforting and personal for you and your loved ones. We're glad that the natural beauty of Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground provided a peaceful setting for reflection and remembrance. Thank you for choosing us to celebrate your loved one's life, and we hope to continue providing solace and support to families in the future. We held my father's funeral service at Mayfields, following his burial at Plymyard Cemetery. It is a pleasant venue with ample parking and the staff are friendly. However, there was a lack of attention to detail which was disappointing: my request for a holding image was missed and no microphone was provided for the lectern, resulting in a webcast that was barely audible - I had been told on enquiry that there would be a microphone, but then when I complained about the poor audio after viewing the webcast, was told that I should have specifically requested one. I can't understand, given the size of the hall, why a lectern microphone is not provided automatically - the ambient microphone is clearly insufficient. I did get a complimentary copy of the webcast (after I, personally, asked Wesley Media to enhance the sound) but this was not readily forthcoming. Our online mourners were elderly and some did not have English as a first language, so they particularly needed clear and distinct sound. If you do pay for a copy of the webcast, you need to bear in mind that the camera is mounted so that the ceiling obscures the top section of the screen, which is small, so heads on photos are cut off - you therefore really need to purchase the version which includes the visual tribute. We chose Menu B, but there was barely enough food to go round for the £8.95 per head, which was embarrassing - the portion allocation, quality and presentation does not warrant the price. On contacting Olivers Catering I was told that they charge Mayfields under half this price, so Mayfields are making a big mark-up. I would strongly recommend you source your catering elsewhere, if at all possible. I've written this review so that you are warned of the pitfalls I encountered in using Mayfields. I hope you have a better experience.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear that aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations during such a difficult time. We take all feedback seriously and have carefully reviewed the points you have raised. Throughout the arrangements, our team worked closely with both your funeral director and Wesley Media to support your family's wishes and to ensure the service ran as smoothly as possible. As this was a family-led service, we also invited you to visit the chapel beforehand to explain the systems, including the webcast arrangements, and to answer any questions. A lectern microphone was available and discussed during this visit should you have wished to use it. Following your comments about the webcast, we immediately liaised with Wesley Media, who confirmed the audio quality met their expected standards. Nevertheless, the audio was enhanced as a goodwill gesture, and we provided you with complimentary copies of both the webcast and the visual tributeMy husband died recently. His wishes were not to have a religious ceremony. We hadn't heard of Mayfield Woodland Memorial Garden until we Googled suitable venues for his service. I went up with my daughters and knew immediately this was the place we needed to have. It's an absolute hidden gem. Peaceful and yet so full of life. The gardens, orchards, ponds and general nature is beautiful and tranquil. Kevin's plot is higher up the grounds, beside a thriving hawthorn hedge and magnificent view over the River Mersey towards the Liverpool coastline. A perfect venue for us to visit and reflect. The staff are amazing, from the ladies in the office to the groundsmen. They are kind, considerate and consumate professionals, who have now become friends and seeing them is just as much part of our visit as is seeing Kevin. It's beautifully maintained and a pleasure to visit. It's made a very sad occasion into something manageable and every visit helps greatly in the grieving process. My daughters and I cannot express our thanks enough to all the staff. Yvonne, Sarah and Holly. Who made this all so special. Thank you Julie, Caitlin and Erin Hamilton
Thank you, Julie, Caitlin, and Erin for your heartfelt review. We are honored that you chose Mayfields Woodland Memorial Garden as a place to honor your husband. It's wonderful to hear that our tranquil environment and dedicated staff provided comfort during such a difficult time. We are committed to maintaining our gardens sustainably so that they continue to be a beautiful space for reflection. If you need any support or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to welcoming you back on your visits.I have visited Mayfields on a couple of occasions, the grounds are well kept, its a pleasant place, unlike other burial grounds it doesn't have the appearance of a place of death and sadness. The birds are singing,it's colourful and overlooks the Mersey estuary. The staff are professional, caring but also have a sense of humour. I would highly recommend this to be a perfect final resting place for anybodies loved ones.
