Highly Commended in Wildlife Awards

After nearly a decade of wildlife improvements, The Oaks Havant Crematorium has been recognised at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Annual Conference and Awards.

Hosted by Debbie Tann, CEO of the Wildlife Trust, and Megan McCubbin, presenter on Springwatch and the trust’s President, groups and individuals from across Hampshire were celebrated for their innovation and commitment to the trust’s goals and ambition to create a wilder future.

Our team was proud to receive the Wilder Business of the Year Highly Commended award.

The award recognised the work of the grounds team to enhance wildlife on the site, as well as funds donated to the trust earlier this year thanks to people donating metal following a loved one’s cremation (https://www.havantcrematorium.co.uk/blog/2023/07/13/havant-colleagues-give-12000-to-beloved-charities/).

Thanks to advice and monitoring from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, a report in 2022 showed the highest species diversity recorded since surveys began.

Colleagues at The Oaks Crematorium Havant have been working hard to make the whole of its surroundings more wildlife friendly since it opened nearly a decade ago.

What our clients say...

  • Truly beautiful and peaceful. Wish I lived closer as I would choose this location for my own cremation, the focus on environment and wildlife is wonderful. During our service the peacock was walking in the garden, and then joined by a pheasant and magpie, a welcome and unexpected distraction and a reminder to that nature carries on regardless. Thank you…
